In compliance with AYSO National Rules and Regulations, the Regional Board of Directors of AYSO Region 1678 announces the opening of nominations and elections for the position of Regional Commissioner for a 3 year term. The position of Regional Commissioner is the person charged with the daily operation of the local AYSO region. The Regional Commissioner position requires a volunteer time commitment averaging 10-20+ hours per week. This time committment varies depending on the season and activities within the Region, Area, and Section. There is also a requirement to travel 2 times per year: NAGM (National general meeting) and EXPO - these are paid by the Region.

The current term for AYSO Region 1678 Regional Commissioner will end March 31, 2026. The new term for the RC voted in will begin April 1, 2026.
Nomination Process:
- Nomination Period: October 22, 2025 - November 9, 2025
- Eligibility: Any member in good standing within our Region may be nominated. Preferred AYSO volunteer experience, Board position would be a positive.
- How to Nominate: Submit nominations via email to Paul Gemmell at [email protected]
- Nomination Requirements: Please include the nominee's name, contact information, and a brief statement of why they would be an excellent fit for the role.
Selection Process:
- All nominations will be reviewed by the Nomination Committee (Megan Blain, Paul Gemmell, Adam Micklin).
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview by the Nominating Committee, current Regional Commissioner, and Area Director.
- The final selection will be made through a voting process by the Executive (only eligible-voting members) Regional Board members and overseen by the Area Director. The election will take place on November 17, 2025 at Canyon House in RMV at 6:30pm.
