5U Team Leader
The Team Leader role in this program is very important. The players will be assigned to teams of 5 players. We will need one parent from each team to volunteer to oversee the team. This Team Leader will make sure the players all get an opportunity to play on the field and most importantly have fun! The Team Leader will also be given the game bag which contains a game ball, some cones, a small first aid kit, ball pump, and 5 uniforms. Once the teams are formed, they will be sent a list of their players to contact to arrange for the distribution of uniforms.
The players will meet for a 20-minute training session with our excellent First Touch Coaches on Saturdays. Each session will include a warmup, some simple skill instruction and a fun activity. The players will then be released to their Team Leader and play a prescheduled 10-minute game. Their session should not last more than 45 minutes in total.
Team Leaders do not need to take a Coach Certification course but are required to complete the Background Checks. This includes Risk and Live Scan.
Team Leaders will be contacted by the 5U Coordinator before the season starts.
